The importance of Gurupurnima goes beyond the celebration of a single day. It is a constant reminder to remember the importance of the Guru in our lives and to cultivate an attitude of devotion, humility and gratitude.
We first learn to bow to ourselves each morning, to our inner teacher. This act of devotion creates a bridge between humanity and the divinity that resides within you. A dedicated gesture of humility that opens us to the guidance and enlightenment that comes from that sacred place within us. Next, we pay homage to the universe. Let us bow to the infinite beauty and wisdom that surrounds us. Our Guru’s, nature, the Angels, the souls, the external Masters supporting us in every moment. We recognize that our Guru’s are devoted reflections of that divine perfection that permeates all that exists within.

The Roots of Guru Purnima
Gurupurnima, is traditionally a sacred festival celebrated in Indian tradition, carrying a deep and powerful meaning. The Sanskrit words used in this celebration resonate with age-old wisdom and reminds us of the importance of honoring our Gurus and spiritual Masters.
The word "Guru" comes from Sanskrit meaning "one who enlightens." The Guru is the one who guides, who illuminates the path of knowledge and truth. They are the beacon who leads us out of the state of darkness and into the light of inner enlightenment.
"Purnima" means "full moon." It is a time of maximum brightness, when the moon shines in its full splendor in the night sky. This is a powerful symbol of spiritual enlightenment, abundance and complete fulfillment.
On this sacred occasion, through rituals, chanting, meditations and teachings, we immerse ourselves in the presence of the Guru (inner and outer).
The Sanskrit words used in these practices are powerful and vibrant, able to awaken and activate the subtle energies within us. We open ourselves to the Guru’s loving guidance and welcome his wisdom. It is a time to renew our commitment to our spiritual path and to express gratitude for the Guru's and our inner Guru’s precious gift in our lives.
Gurupurnima reminds us that the Guru is more than a teacher; he is a catalyst for inner transformation. Through his presence and loving support, he helps us overcome challenges, overcome illusions and discover our true divine nature.

From major Italian airports, you can take a high-speed train to Foggia (or explore other options listed on the page). Foggia is approximately one hour from the Ashram. You may also check for direct flights to Foggia Airport (Gino Lisa Foggia Airport). Other nearby airports include Rome and Bari.
From Foggia, Rome, or Bari, you can arrange a transfer. The Ashram offers a shuttle service for pick-up and drop-off.
