What is Guru Purnima?
"It is an incomparable journey where the "Guru" leads you from the visible to the invisible, from the material to the divine, from the ephemeral to the eternal."
In India, on Guru Purnima the Masters and their Grace have been celebrated for ages. This night will be spiritually powerful and everything will be possible, a magical night full of miracles.
The first full moon after the summer solstice is known as Guru Purnima.
This is a sacred day, as related in the Shiva Purana, the first transmission of the Yogic sciences of Shiva to his first disciples, the Saptarishi, the famous seven magical Indian Sages.
The word “Guru” in Sanskrit is translated as 'the dispeller of darkness', the one that removes the darkness and lets the Divine Light enter into every devotee, who chooses his/her liberation by experiencing the Divine Source.
Receiving Shivananda's Darshan on the night of Guru Purnima will be very powerful.
Guru Purnima is traditionally the day when seekers offer their gratitude to the Guru and receive his blessings.
During Guru Purnima it's also considered a particularly beneficial time to practice Sadhana and meditation, says Shivananda.

Shivananda's Ashram
ASHRAM LOCATION:
The ashram center is located on 185 acres in the beautiful mountains and ancient forest in Puglia, southern Italy.

TRAVELING TO THE ASHRAM:
First fly into Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO).
Then take a scenic 3 hour high speed train from Rome to Foggia station, which is about 1 hour drive from the Ashram.
Italian Trains:
Then transfer from Foggia station with driver to the Ashram. The ashram has a shuttle that will pick you up and take you back at 25 Euros each way, per person, cash only.
